Pompey's Romans - 1/32 scale plastic by Italeri. (Hobby Post)
Late Republic Romans. 4 x 6 stand units. Based on 7mm square by 2mm deep plastic card. I twisted heads etc on many of the figures wielding a gladius to have more side facing poses leaning into their shields.
Desert sand and pale yellow were used on these instead of red to differentiate them from Caesar's forces - whom they will fight in the Civil War.
Ideally the pilum throwers would be on the back row not the front but ease of positioning figures on stands and stands in their units led me against this.
I will combine these with my red units (see Caesar's Army ) to take on my Spartacus army when ready (see Spartacus Slave Army )
I had help with these from Simon Bennison of Painted Napoleonic Armies - I just did a bit of the painting plus basing and varnishing etc...
